Forward is an architectural practice established in 2011. The practice has gained reputation for excellence in designing contemporary projects in various realms and is led by two partners Michael Pace and Christopher Micallef.
All projects are informed by a sensitive approach to context and place, the experiential dialogue with materials and a concern for the environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainability. The practice is committed to a research-based approach, and aspires to create an architecture that is contemporary and rooted in its context, at all scale.
The practice has a wide range of work at a variety of scales. Forward resist the trend of increasing the size to the studio to an all inclusive practice and engage in collaborating with several specialists that allow the studio to pair up and collaborate in creating specific tailor made solutions. Both partners are closely involved in the design of all projects and committed to cultivating a strong working relationship with clients and stakeholders in the development of all projects. The practice is international in its outlook and aims to expand its international portfolio.Recent projects include Betsson’s Headquarter Office fit out, Gauci Automobile Showroom, PTL’s office fit out refurbishment together with a number of single family residential units. The studio is also working on a number of Valletta initiated projects including the museum fit out for the Military Hertage Experience in Fort St Elmo and is actively working on a number of residential fit out projects which will be completed in 2014.
In June 2014, Forward Architects opened a second studio in central Barcelona in response to the practice’s international outlook.
