Vera Jankovic
Technical Director & Associate Partner

Vera obtained her degree in Architecture in 1993 from the University of Belgrade. After graduation, she joined Pro-Ing as a junior architect in Serbia, working under supervision on a number of small and large-scale projects including a sports complex, a housing estate, a shopping centre and two elementary schools, before obtaining her professional license.

In 1996, Vera relocated to Malta and started working in architectural and interior design with top local architectural practices. Some of her earlier local work includes a detailed interior design of the Grand Hotel in Gozo, the detail design and working drawings of the Portomaso Business Centre and its luxurious apartments, the marina development and the redevelopment of the Hilton, the preliminary concept design of the Fort St. Angelo Cottonera project and the concept design for the artificial island and golf course for San Marco Consortium amongst many other projects.

Vera joined MIDI plc as Principal Architect in 2004 in a managerial position responsible for the Tigne Point and Manoel Island Projects valued at €450 million. Both projects involved the rehabilitation of old forts and buildings of historical value together with the development of high-end apartment buildings, office blocks, sports, leisure and commercial premises, communal pedestrianised spaces and underground carparks.

Upon completion of these large-scale projects in 2012, Vera decided to take on a different challenge and joined the Forward team as Senior Architect. She supervises junior architects and is the go-to person for support in technical and site issues, detailing, contracts and specifications. Some of the projects Vera has managed on site include the Betsson and Casumo offices, commercial offices such as the Hili Ventures lounge and McDonald’s Bugibba, the museum fit out of St. Elmo National War Museum, refurbishment of residential palazzos in Valletta and high-end residences at Tigne Point.

In 2018 she became Technical Director and Associate Partner of Forward Architects.

Besides holding two Serbian licenses for design and construction and the Maltese warrant, in 2010 she obtained a qualification in Energy Performance in Buildings for dwellings, in accordance with EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive from the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment of Malta.
