Michael Pace completed his Architecture Degree with Honours at the University of Malta in 1999 and earned his warrant in 2000. After graduating he worked as an architect for four years with local architecture firm Architecture Project, where he trained as a junior architect and eventually took on leadership of small-to-medium size projects.

In 2003, he moved on to set up Spacestudio, an architectural partnership. Over seven years, the firm oversaw the design and completion of a number of residential projects, as well as shops, restaurants and a nightclub. The firm also developed urban design concept proposals for local and foreign clients.

He left Spacestudio at the end of 2010 and founded Forward Architects together with Christopher Micallef, an architecture practice specialising in architecture and interior design. To date, the firm continues to be led by its two founders and has grown in focus and size to cover a range of projects, such as new build private homes, offices, historic conversions, museums, hotels and corporate architectural services.

Leading the interior architecture studio at the practice, Michael has been responsible for some of the firm’s more significant commissions including the museum fit out for the relocated War Museum at Fort St. Elmo in Valletta, the Hotel Rosselli and various others. He currently leads the interior fitouts for the Principal Offices of Izola Bank and headquarters for Mr Q.

Michael is a strong believer in collaboration and believes that with the right network, the perfect team for any project can always be brought together. Local and international collaboration continues to drive projects at Forward Architects, always with positive results.
