The apartment, in its original state, had a traditional layout, with separate kitchen, dining and living rooms all connected via a long corridor. The client’s brief was to have an open plan living, dining and kitchen space overlooking an existing mature garden. The kitchen area extends to a study, which is enclosed in raw wooden walls, which in turn disguise doors to a bathroom and a guest bedroom. The apartment is naturally well-lit, taking full advantage of the south facing views and sunlight. Finishes have been kept simple – natural finish oak parquet, micro-cement plaster, plywood panelling, white walls and simple, no-fuss fittings and furnishings.
